Guys, after doing a bunch of searching I just can't figure out what to do. I would like to raise the rear of my truck 1-2". I have a leveling kit already installed up front. Anyways, are lift blocks like these okay http://autozone.com/R,NONAPP4565/sto...ductDetail.htm
, or should I purchase something like the AutoSpring Add a Leaf on ebay? That is $145 vs. the $24.99 at Autozone for the blocks.
1. ditch the factory block and replace it with a 3" block. stacking blocks is dangerous and I'm pretty sure illegal. stay away from universal stuff. look into a name brand lift kit and buy their 3-4" blocks
2. add a leaf...this is better and will prevent wheel hop
how wide are your springs? and not all blocks are made alike...I can assure you of this. When your talking suspension, you need to spend the money on a quality product...better safe than sorry
I didn't notice you were 4x2, so yeah, do what Nassty said. You can probly get them out of a junkyard for next to nothing. if you can, also grab the 4x4 coil-overs. the 4x4 ones are 1 to 1 1/2" taller than 4x2 ones.
you need the ones from a 04+ only. They've been around for 3 years, so most junkyard should have a few of them.
you could also put in the classified section a "wanted" ad. alot of guys are dropping their trucks by removing this block. they are worthless to them after the drop, so it never hurts to ask.
I just checked my truck and I don't have any block on or near my rear leafs. So, if I add a 2" block will this cause any trouble with my driveshaft alignment? Also, what is axle wrap and will it cause that?

Your 2x4 block is actually more like a piece of plate than it is a block.
Well, I went and got some 1" universal blocks and they seemed like they were decent. Got everything apart and the center bolts on the bottom of the leaf springs would not fit in the blocks. I tried everything and it wouldn't work.
So when I went to put everything back together I now couldn't get the center bolts back to there original positions in the saddle holes. I decided to take it to a shop and pay the $80/hr. As I pulled out I heard and felt a pop. Got out and the center bolts fell into place! Thank god.
I have a 2004 4wd and wanted to lower the rear instead of raising the front 'cause I don't want to spend the money on new wheels and tires. Anyway, I might be interested in swapping your 2wd blocks for my 4wd ones. My only question to those reading is what else would I need to do and how much would it lower my truck? I am thinking I need at least 2 inches of drop in the rear to make it look level.
Don't use the blocks in the link.
Those aluminum blocks can break very easily, and aren't worth the trouble. I've seen people use them with no problem, and I've seen people use them and have the center stud brake off and spit out the block.
A add a leaf would be the best thing to do, and new u bolts should also be used.
