Check Fuel Cap Light
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and the Check Fuel Cap light came on. I checked the cap several times and have driven several hundred miles and a few tanks of gas. I have even replaced the gas cap. The light is still on and now the check engine light is on. Please help!! You can contact me directly at allenr@nc.rr.com if you wish. Thanks!

you need to see your ford dealer. you a have malfunction in the evaperative system. that means there is a vacume leak in the system. and not fixing it will sooner or later turn your check engine lite on.

I've never had my light come on but I've heard tell sometimes the little (valve ?) in the fuel cap will stick and cause the light to come on.They say you can tap it with a screwdriver or pliers and jar it loose and the light will go out.I haven't tried this so I don't know,it might be worth a shot though.
