It sounds like the truck is in primer. If it is, you should really get the whole truck painted, since primer does not block water. When the door is repainted, it probably won't match the rest of the truck anyway. filling in the holes is not very difficult for a competent welder or body shop, so you could use the the door that is on it, assuming it's in good shape, or, you could find the rest of the trim, and put trim on the entire truck to match. IMO, I know painting is expensive, but save your pennies, and get the whole thing painted.
Ok I think that I will try to get it painted then.... I'll go around to some paint shops and ask about how much it would cost. Also about with rust? take it to a body shop to get it fixed right? And can they fix it with sheet metal or use bondo?
