Don't know Flywheel
Hi there,
I'm currently doing a zf swap into an 88 bronco. The motor is a 351w from an 85 crown vic. My queston/confusion:
I thought i needed a flywheel from an 88-92 351. After visiting my local mechanic, he said i need a flywheel from a 77-86 302/351. Is he right?
Also, i had already ordered a flywheel from an 88 truck that i was told came from a 351, however when it arrived it says on the part its from an 88 f150. The part number is E8TR-AA and also has 5 8G22 on it. Does anyone know if this is a 351 flywheel?
Thanks for the help

Fords used different imbalances on its flywheels over the years. You are looking for a flywheel with a 28 oz imbalance factor for your 351W engine. The 1969 to 1997 351W used a 28 oz imbalance. The 1968 to 1980 302 also used a 28 oz imbalance so those flywheels will work on the 351W. Beginning in 1981 until the end of production in 2001, the 302 engines used a 50 oz imbalance.
A fellow forum member called NumberDummy has parts number info up until the late 80's. Send him a PM if he doesn't see this thread. He is a good guy--very knowledgeable and always goes out of his way to help out (I wish he was the parts guy at one of the Ford dealers around here). My thought is that since 1988 F150s came with 351W engines, the flywheel you bought is probably correct. When you buy your clutch and pressure plate, you would buy it to match that flywheel.
