I just purchased an 07 F-150 Lariat - MSRP was $39000, and I paid $31000, that included the $3000 rebate.

I can't believe some of the deals you guys got. It seems like the more expensive of a truck you go with the more you can get off MSRP. My MSRP on my STX was $28,995 with several options(Power package, Tow pkg, Sirius) and I got it for $26,995 and 3.9% financing for 72 months.

Well, if you think about it...the more expensive the truck, normally they have more profit margin on it.

Every little option you add just increases the difference between invoice - holdback and the MSRP.

Thanks everyone for their help. He sent e-mails to several dealers. One came back at about $30,500 for a 35K truck. They were the only ones willing to deal much.

go to cars.com or edmunds.com or carsdirect.com and build your truck. this is the truck i built. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2007/ford/f150/100769824/optionsresults.html?action=2
msrp ~ 34905, invoice ~ 31603, current rebates ~ 3545

add up your numbers and tell the dealer what you will pay out the door. no add ons, no special hidden fees. out the door price!

to get out the door price take the price for the truck and add 9-10%. specifically this is what i would ask for the truck above. 31603 - 500 - 3545 ~ 27558. add 8% tax, 100 doc fee, 300 for title, 300 for license. this adds up to 30462.64.

i would then go to the dealer and say i want this truck with these options and i will pay 30500 otd. specifically i would say i want to order this truck at 30000 otd!

ditto on the x-plan not worth a whole lot. I have an internet offer from a local dealer on a 4x4 supercab XLT at ~10% below MSRP which comes out to ~$800 below invoice ($29,600 for a truck with MSRP $33,090). The x-plan was ~$600 more than the initial dealer offer. I haven't stepped foot in the dealership yet--hopefully I'll get an even better deal.

P.S. those numbers do not include the various rebates/special financing.

Atleast you guys didn't buy a 06 SCREW just before the same truck for 07 was about 4 k's lower than the 06. On my 06 w/ the fx4 and everything else MSRP was just over 43,000 I got mine for 37 and some change at 0% apr. Now 8 months later and 4,500 miles later my truck is worth 29,000. Talk about deprecation.

Skymonkey don't feel bad. I paid $26k for my STX a couple months ago and already have 13k miles on it. I don't even want to know what its worth now. LOL I am going to drive it until it dies, or at least until it is paid off!
