f-350, 1989, 7.3IDI, the oil pressure is on the upperside of the "normal" of the guage is this ok and am i just being paranoid?? idk if its me or is something wrong, what could even possibly cause high oil presure? a blocked turbo oil return? it does have an ATS turbo and oil changed every 3500 miles, 180,000 miles on truck now, turbo rebuilt round 120,000
thanks in advance guys
what kind of gauge would you use?
I recently did oil change and have noticed my pressure reading low normal, wnet up to high normal, and back dwn to low normal. not sure here...

Ford gauges are a little screwy. You can get a decent mechanical gauge and tap in to the same connection that the factory gauge uses with a T-fitting. Be sure to bleed air out of the gauge tubing after you connect it.
Fords have been notorious for the voltage regulators in there dashes to go bad.
Well let me throw this in for people who don't know. Dashes have to have a voltage regulator to maintain a constant specific voltage going out to the temp and pressure sensors. If they didn't the gauges would fluctuate with the alternator output. Now that is mechanical clusters or should I say not controlled by a body computer.
this dont have nothin to do with high oil pressure but i have an 87 and my old 6.9 motor was showing low oil psi on manual and electric guage i took it out and put in another 6.9 that i know runs and has good oil psi it stayed on M on normal for about a week then went back to showing low ive put guages and all in it and still does it
