I have changed out all of the ignition components, changed battery wires, plugs, rebuilt distributor, new cap and rotor, new wires, ignition control module, coil pickup, tested coil its ok, netural switch, and selonoid all ok. Getting good fire, blue spark and still can't get engine to crank! Getting good fuel to carb however it is spitting and even catching fire when I try to crank engine. Problem began on cold night, truck cranked fine and ran about 1/2 mile then engine died, truck would continue to crank but would die when I tried to accelerate, finally after several attempts I was able to get truck to run, engine seemed fine. Next day engine would not crank. I have been able to get truck to start only one time since the problem began and it would restart after warming however after several hours it would not restart and has not started again. HELLLLLP and THANKS!!

I have recently been having a problem getting my Bronco to start as well. At one point, it also would not crank like yours. The problem turned out to be the starter solenoid. I also had the starter and battery tested as well, just to be sure. Good luck.

LAST EDITED ON 02-Feb-01 AT 01:56 PM (EST)[p]Since it is not even cranking over at times....I'd start at the basic and eziest/cheapest ways to check:
first...battery and ground cables/connections...frame to engine and batty to eng..whatever..
then from batty (hope it's a good batty/checked under load!)....to the starter and solenoid.
know how to check for voltage at the solenoid w/key "on"..and key.."start"? is the solenoid clicking? when it won't crank?
if it clicks and won't crank, see if you have voltage at the main + conn. @ da starter, if so, then have the starter checked for grounds/hi resistance in the windings, etc.
if you have voltage there....then...use heavy duty jumper cables to check out the main cables from the batty..a visual insp sometimes does not show ya that the cable strands kinda sux, or the connector sux...run em from batty neg to a good ground (same as the cable runs)..if still ng, run da other from batty to starter..see if it works
that's my idea for basic stuff....although i am kinda lt headed again today!..
good luck dude!
