My truck has been runing very bad. Had to get towed because it wasn't making any power and would just shut off. Mechanic came to my house to work on my truck and found the codes listed above. He said the first two ment misifre in #2 & #7 cylider but was unsure about the last two codes. Also we checked the fuel filters, the smaller one was very clogged with kind of a waxy guey veggitable oil colored texture, and the bigger one wasn't as bad. So I had him change the fuel filters and now the truck is running alot better but still doesn't sound right or dirve right. I have been runing Biodiesel, that meets ASTM specs, in my last few tanks and am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also before I had the truck, injectors 2,5,6,7 were replace at 85k and now the truck has 100,340miles.
Any help would be greatly apprieciated and if anyone knows what P2614 and P2617 I would like to know.
Thanks
I wonder if the injectors got fuel starved from the clogged filter? Low fuel pressure to the injectors will kill them. Biodiesel itself, while not a bad thing, tends to clean the fuel system out and if you had anything in the tank it went straight to the filters. What percentage bio were you running? Ford only allows 5%.
They are both cylinder contribution codes--the computer detects they aren't pulling their own load--and for me it meant an injector ( I had 0266--changed #2 on Saturday).
FWIW--check ebay for injectors--if you watch carefully you can usually buy a whole set for what the price of 2 or 3 injectors cost from the dealer and you can have your mechanic friend install them for you since you are technically out of warranty. #2 isn't bad since it's on driver side front, but # 7 is a straight up BITCH.
Vince hit it right on the head--LMAO. It's not really that bad for me since I'm tall and have long skinny arms and fingers, but it's still the most difficult of the bunch to get the correct torque on. You have to remember that I had an excellent teacher, so I know the tricks, what few there are.
