Does anyone here have a wiring diagram for an 83 bronco. My rear glass quit working and I can't get in the back end. The switch on the t/g did not work when I got it and the in dash switch quit working recently. I would like to get this fixed so any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Remove the panel and jumper wire the motor. Then check the wires going fom the tailgate into the directional light housing, better than 50% of the breaks/shorts occur there. Follow that bundle of wires out of the directional to where they are routed under the truck. You will find another harness plug which is VERY likely to be corroded. If you find a broken wire, solder it. Do not twist/tape/crimp unless, you feel like hunting for a problem in the future.
K. Thanks for the help. I already tried the tailgate slam thing (had a friend hold the switch while I pushed on the gate so it's not the interlock.) Hopefully I can get the window down to open the tailgate. where does the power wire for the rear key run from? is it likely to be broken in the harness there too or is there a fusible link that could have blown out.

The power from the front to rear runs in a harness under the truck. I have in the past hooked a hot wire (used a spool of wire) from the + battery terminal and touched it directly to the window motor to get my glass down. This gave me the chance to re-do all the broken wires. Be patient and do it right.
