Hello all. I've got myself a new girlfriend, and she comes with a new car mystery. 1997 Kia Sportage 2.0. No start. Starter and solenoid replaced. The battery was taken to the parts store and tested good.
I was able to push start the um....kia (can't really call it a truck...) and she drove it home (30 minutes +) so I imagine the alternator is fine, but I'm confused. We tried jump starting it, no go. Pulled the battery, got it checked again, and it needed charged, but tested good.
well you solved it yourself by crossing wires it is before the starter relay so we can eliminate that right? so either pushbutton it or replace the switch... id replace the switch tho cause if too many people realize what yorue doin there it makes it easier to steal
I haven't laid eyes on it yet...I think that you still need the key turned to the "on" position for the truck to run. It's the "start" function that isn't working, and apparently, it is a $500 switch. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, but as I mentioned, it ain't mine, and I haven't seen it yet.
