Beerstalker, your lund set do look like or sim. to the ones I saw. Shopping online Its difficult at differing sources to get a good pic. or mounting info.
You mention scuffing the rubber for adhesion. I'm sure they cover the scuffing, but no goin back to plain. Don,t know. I have siliconed the rubber to freshen it up, my bad. If I go with em I'll get out the alcohol bottle. Your pictures where a great help. I noticed that the front vertical area, where the mounting tape sits falls down off of the rubber seal. Do they utilize something there to stablize the the leading edge? 3m Tape to back of the mirror mount ? Thanks to all .
Actually you loosen the mirror and it sticks to the rubber weatherstripping behind the mirror too.
Yes they send you a small piece of a scuff pad to scuff up the rubber. If you ever removed them it would be noticable, but not horribly so. Only if you were really looking for it. I don't think the weatherstripping is that expensive though, so you could probably replace it if it bothered you.
If you want, PM me your email address and I can send you the full size pictures which will be much easier to see.
All things considered (somewhat ) I've become ok with the scuffing of the seals. By the time I'd be taking the visors off , the seals will prob. need replacement any ways.
