Start at the master cylinder. Remove the bolts, lay it in the center. Abs module, the same. Disconnect the steering column slide under the master cyl (do not allow the column to rotate). Disconnect the wiring connectors (they are all either color coded or only fit one way). Disconnect power steering lines (of course the degas bottle, air filter, cac tubes). Remove center section of shroud (some like to remove radiator as well). Remove hoses, wire connectors, power steering cooler, and trans lines. Disconnect vacuum lines from map sensor, battery cables, essentially, everything that connects body to frame. Ground straps on cab (passenger side). Go inside the cab, pull back carpet above body mounts, remove bolts. Remove 2 bolts either side of radiator, set lift arms of two post lift under pinch welds, lift carefully. If regular cab, be aware that it is very front heavy (strap down to rack for safety). I may have missed something as I am doing this from memory.

If you do it once, you'll wonder why you havent done this before! Oh, there isnt any mention of this in the shop manual pre 08. Ford didn't sanction it because of worries about tweaking the cab.

so basically this does not sound that bad at all...

like 3-4 hours job and the cab should be off!

About 1 1/2-2 hours after you have done a few.

And Vloney, you don't have to remove anything on the fan shroud. The radiator and front part of the shroud go right up with the body. The fan and stator stay with the engine/frame.

Ford Doctor has some new pics of cab removals. It really helps some of us "non-techs" understand why many of the techs on the board see this as the best way to do many major repairs. That really does expose the engine nicely.

The dealer where I get my work done usually has at least two with the cabs off, one time last summer when my turbo went south they had SIX cabs off; thats when the tech gave me a tour, explaining what each was having done and then told me to go buy a dodge...lol.

Cab off... seems the way to go!

Do you guys know if crewcab cab is balanced so I won't need to bolt it to the lift?

The crew cab doesn't need to be strapped down, but it wouldn't be a bad idea. The only ones that need to be strapped are the regular cabs.

Thank you!

When I will do this I'll post pics so it would be easier to make a detailed writeup for the complete procedure

thank you!

There has been more than one occasion that I have referred to "The Folder" for help.!!
Let's only hope that someone will be gracious enough to devote the time to explain the procedure along with some photos.
