Injectors - overhaul or replace?

I bought a 95 with 221K on it. I want to replace the injectors. Right now I am leaning toward having these ones rebuilt by Rosewood due to the lower price compared to remans from Beans or Swamp. Other than armature clearance, are there other ways to evaluate them for deciding whether or not they are worth putting cash into? Same thing goes for using them as cores, if enough stuff is worn out, core charges are going to be large and maybe I'd be better off saving up for new ones. Those of you that have gone the DIY route, are you happy with it? And those who have used high mileage injectors for cores, did you get nailed with a ton of charges? I don't have a good sense at all about how long a set of injectors is good for and when they are not worth saving. Thanks.

Many people are very happy with the DIY injector kits. Tj is one off the top of my head that I know has the DIY inject kit. I run a set of Beans and i had 110k on my stockers and I got a full core charge reciept. Wear and tear wise I wouldn't have the foggiest as to what you'd get stuck with for a core charge with 220k on the clock but as long as you arent expierencing any real problems with them now, i couldn't see why there would be anything wrong. I know that your gonna loose some dough on your cores cause they're all gonna get ne o-rings. If your lookin for remans, I would recommend Beans, if you got 2k burnin a hole in your wallet then buy a new set. Its up to your budget to be honest. Good luck

I replaced mine with new ones at 240,000 on the stockers. It was still running fine but started to wonder when I heard the 7.3 injector needs to be rebuilt after 150,000.

Tim is running AD stock 00-03 injectors 140cc, rubberduck has the diy stage 1s in his 160cc. Beans stage 1s are also 160cc

Foreman is correct. I want DIY 1's and recommend them but I don't have them. I have talk to Jim of DIY/Rosewood via TDS and he is a very help knowledgable guy and he offers a great product. I would either have him do the rebuild or buy the rebuild/stage 1 kit form him and DIY!

I've been talking with Jim at Rosewood because the DIY route looks a lot easier on the wallet, he's been really helpful answering my questions. My dilemma is that if you add the stage 1 price plus the core charge from Beans or Swamp or DPP, it's pretty much the same price as a new set. So if mine are shot, I'm probably better off getting a new set in the long run. The rig runs poorly, smokes unburned fuel, and I have fuel in my oil, so I'm pretty confident these injectors are about done. I'm going to pull them and send to Jim for an assessment on whether or not they are worth overhauling. He says he usually doesn't take injectors over 200K miles for cores.
