winch mounting
i have a winch bumper on my 79 f250 how do i know which winch will fit?? how do you measure for it? i am looking at getting the warn powerplant HD and dont know if it will fit? are they universal??
i cant say which winch bumper i have since it was on it when i bought it but it is similar to the warn bumper

Measure the bolt hole placement on your winch plate. When you check the winch web site they will have a template for the winch you are interested in. Compare the template measurement to your measurements.

warn got back to me and said the m8000 m12000 and the m8472?? will fit so i am gonna go with the m12000 since the formula came out to just over 10000lbs. i sent em pics of my bumper and they said it was the old style original winch bumper.
now i just need the money the powerplant wont fit
