Hello, I'm trying to help out my dad. He has a 2001 F350 and he is wanting to buy a winch bumper. He has a Ramsey 12000 worm gear winch. I have found a ton of winch bumpers online but most seem to be 2500 bucks or they are for Warn winches. So I have a few questions.
1. Could you still mount a Ramsey in a Warn winch bumper?
2. Is it possible to get a winch bumper or even brush guard type mount for his winch, for a 1000 dollars or less
3. He is not interested in the mounts that use the 2in reciever hookup.
Thanks in advance. Most of the winch bumpers seem to start at 1500 or more and easily shoot way up in price.
Most winch bumpers will accommodate a number of winch sizes and manufacturers. The bolt pattern is what you need to be concerned with. 90% of winches out there are a 10 X 4.5 bolt pattern which is also what the Warn is. As for price.....most winch bumpers are going to run you upwards of $2K. If you're looking to save some $, you can find some good used ones that need some paint and TLC for about half that.
i got my winch bumber out of Georgia.. cant think of the name, but with 4fog holes, winch mount, two D rings, and pre runner push bar ontop it was cheaper than any of the others out there. now to figure out a pic to add?
here is the website tacticalarmorgroup ramsey winch. it was cheap and they still r cheap, and we use the crap out of the bumper. from the farm to romps in the river and mud.
cant you just get a 2" hitch up front, then mount the winch on a 2" receiver plate? cost you about $250 for everything, and the one from curt is rated for 9k pounds

Good idea, but....

Here is an alternative that you can get complete or in a a kit that you weld yourself (or pay someone to weld locally).
Thanks for the responses. As for the reciever mount, he is looking for a bumper, and the winch is a 12,000 lb winch. The truck weighs around 7000lbs plus when he uses the overhead camper, the 9000lb reciver mount would really be pushing the limits.
