I'm getting the 9" rear end out of a 59. It still has a nice chrome grill and a few other pieces of trim. I know nothing about 59s. How much do you guys think I should offer for the parts to keep them from the scrap yard. Is the grill and dash worth any thing?

Get the grille, they are very hard to find, and are worth $$$. And Ford ain't making any more of them. Get as much as you can, parts for 1957/60's are in demand, because aftermarket suppliers don't have much. How are the fenders and the tailgate? Get the tailgate for sure. Tailgates are the toughest part to find on any old truck.

I just paid 205.00 for a very nice chrome grill for my '59 won at auction on Ebay, and consider myself to have gotten a great deal,as ones in like condition usually bring over 300.00.Not sure on fair price for the painted type though.Rest assured you'll be doing someone a favor by saving it-and make a proffit.Steve
if there going to haul it to the dump depending on the condition of it get the whole thing then take what you need off of it and resell it at a profit. if you have the room.
Go for the whole front clip... it'll be easier to get that off than to remove the grille alone. (There's a zillion bolts to get off, and you can reach them more easily by flipping the clip over) Someone will want the fenders if there's anything left of them. Offer something low but not completely insulting first ($50?) and see if they go for it.
Thanks for the info. Got the rear end for $60. Think I'll offer him another $60 for rest of the parts I think are good. Should be able to make a few bucks for the '51. I didn't want to seem to interested but it looked like no dents in the grill.Let ya know if I get it.Is the dash with all the gauges worth getting? The bed is gone and didn't look at the fenders.
