hey all, my friend has a '99 F350 with the 7.5L in it and he was wondering if he took off the catalytic converter if it would help or hurt his fuel mileage.
Hes currently getting between 18 and 22 mpg on the hiway of course. also how would this affect the sound/noise level?
Taking off the catalytic converter and even the muffler (straight pipe from the turbo back) is a fairly common modification for a PSD that will help with mileage (a little ) and performance.
Surprisingly, it isn't as loud as you would think. The turbo really does cut down on the exhaust noise.
