I switched out one of my batteries due to not noticing any color from the tiny round window on top of the battery... the other one was green. Checked it yesterday and the other one doesn't show green anymore (no color actually) and the power windows were lethargic this morning.
Could I have some sort of battery problem?
What's this I hear about fully charging a battery before installing in a vehicle. When my battery died the other discharged b/c my alternator failed. I replaced the alternator and one battery and everything seemed ok.
It is always a good idea to replace both batteries of the same type at the same time. And it would not hurt to charge the batteries. If you don't have battery charger, would suggest you buy one..with a built in meter and it will show you when the battery is fully charged..Another useful tool is a hydrometer..to check the fluid in each cell of the battery.. Napa sells them for about $20. It might show a bad cell..
My truck had one of its batteries replaced (a fact I didn't know until I started having problems). So I started hearing it seem to crank a bit slowly, and almost didn't get it started when I got back from a four day trip (truck was parked at the airport). Anyway, I put in the Duralast Golds from Autozone and they're all good.
BTW, you might have a look at the power window lubing thread. Only takes about an hour and your windows will like you for it...
