Well, I finally got the helwig rear anti-sway on - big difference.
I usually corner pretty hard - even in the 'burban's I've owned. I noticed that't I'd really been backing off in the X even on high speed interstate to interstate ramps.
I didn't even get out of the driveway and I noticed the Helwig. Backing out, when one wheel dropped over the curb, the body didn't roll near as much.
And on the road, much better feel! I don't feel nearly as inclined to let off the gas on high speed corners now - I don't feel like she's gonna keel over and capsize.
Did anyone have any leftover hardware when they did theirs? I have 4 non-locking 1/2" nuts left over. All of the part counts were right according to the parts list.
I have to agree that the install instructions form Helwig stink. I had prinited out a how-to I found through this site but couldn't find it at install time. Anyone know the link so I can double check my work?
Yes! I had some left over hardware and a few extra bushings. I know it`s installed properly. because I`m a tech at a dealership and know a thing or two about cars! there is a HUGE difference in handling!!! for me it got rid of the dreaded death wander.
mine is going on in the morning...looking forward to see the difference! glad you like it, hope I do too...
Just got mine installed.......to add to what emptyd already said---WOW what a difference, deffinately worth the money huge difference. for anyone thinking of doing it--go for it! I was pleased the minute I pulled out of the driveway.
i have the Helwig anto sway bar kit that i took off my 2000x, its in a box if someone want to make me an offer for it. you can contact me at chazbo@comcast.net

rear, i had to many other jiggles going on and my mech wanted it off. it sits in my garage in a box and figured someone else coul dget some use out of it.
I can't believe you're happy without it! Why did the mech. want it off? Too many jiggles? Just lube it up a bit if it is squeeking. It's not like it is a complicated piece of equipment - especially since they (rear anti-sway bars) come stock on the later year X.
i really didn't notice a diff with it. its been off for a year. i still have a jiggles at speeds, just got some humming going on the right front, tires? joints? i'm told the front trans seal is leaking into the transfer case. it has 110,000 and ready for some more work but i'm keeping the X till it drops. if you know anyone who wants the bar kit email me at chazbo@comcast.net... its being shipped out of cincinnati so you can figure what shipping will be about
