As a new member to this forum I promise to help everyone I can in helping to solve their problems. And in return, would appreciate your two cents worth on problems that might arise. I presently own a 2001 F-150 with the 4.6 Triton engine. The max this truck is used for is to haul a two horse trailer around the southeast section of Ohio. I thought that I was buying the right truck for the job. At 85,000 mi it started blowing white smoke out the exhaust(anti-freeze,head gasket). When you change the oil every 2-3 thousand miles(Castrol 5W20),new air filter every 10 thou, change transmission fluid & filter @50 thou along with many other routine repairs and replacements. My main question is,DID ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM.IF SO, WHAT DID I DO WRONG?
Sorry to hear about your problem. To find out about your engine you will want to look through our tech forums since this forum is used for introductions. Just click on the Forums tab at the upper left and scroll through the list. The 97-03 is a good one to look through as well as the 4.6 - 5.4 modular engine forum.
