Well,I got my 4" MBRP from Autoanything yesterday (3 days from Ontario)and since it was raining today,I rolled the "X" down to one of our local muffler shops and got it installed.. Took them about an hour and I know that I probably would've been out and under for a whole lot more than that if I had done it myself..
Got in ,started it up and WOW,does it sound healthy..Drove it out onto the street and the guys from the shop were watching me,sooo,I just had to give it a little goose and OOOoppppsss did it ever surprise me.. Knew that it would feel different, but not that different, had to get off the throttle really quick..I had it out of OD all the way to the freeway so I could hear it and then let 'er rip and man did she rip....I guess that I'd better quit doing that 'cuz the price of fuel will probably go up over three bucks this coming week..He,He,He.!!!
Don't have any pix 'cuz I can't get it to sit still long enuff to take them.. All it wants to do is run...
I got it from Autoanything.com for around $350-$375 ??? and no shipping and it got here from Ontario to Washington state in five days Fed Ex.. The last order was three days UPS..They charged me $200 at a local shop 'cuz he thot he would have problems, but it went right in and took just a little over an hour..I got the aluminized and got a 5" tip with it for free...Guy at the shop said that unless you're living at the coast or in an area where they use a LOT of salt, you really don't need stainless and since most people don't crawl under your rig, they'd never know the difference..
I have discovered that when I take off and let it shift up at a lower speed and then accelerate again that you can hear the roar when the turbo winds up and you're outta there like a ra**d ape....Gotta quit doing that even with diesel still only $2.94...
Now,if I could only get the boss to let me put a 4" or 5" on my school bus (220 hp Cummins turbo),I'd really be in hog heaven...
Does anyone know if this upgrade will have the same affect on a 6.0 as the 7.3. I want to do an upgrade that will not affect warranty work. This sounds (Ha) like a good option, any comments from those who did this with the 6.0?
