Headlights Flickering ?

Headlights Flickering ?
Hi Guys, SO Just got the 66 F100 running and this evening turned the lights on when running and they go from bright to dim and the amp guage jumps to the positive (about half way to 30) What should I check, I dont know where to start. thanks

Grounds, grounds and more grounds. I had to run a separate ground wire from the alternator to the regulator to get mine to stop flickering. I don't have an alt guage, just the idiot light, but it and my dash lights all flickered. Got a good ground and all is well. I have found that 90% of the time, electrical problems are a ground issue.

I agree with the other two. The wiring schematic always shows a seperate ground dedicated for the alt to the reg and then to chassis. Your healight switch and connector can also have dirty or loose contacts as was in mine as well.
