Frame swap?
Hey guys does anybody know of a frame that our body styles match up pretty good with? I was thinking of turning my old truck in to a 4x4 and thought that with a newer frame i could have IFS as well.

Frames got wider over the years, but with newer trucks they may well be narrowing up again. I think you might be on your own with this one, you may have to grab a tape measure and start getting some dimensions. Interesting idea though...

After 1980 frame configurations change radically so there's no "Drop on & bolt it up with a little fudging here & there frame swap" that is easy. At least not easy like 1965 thru 1979 frame swaps are. 
Having said that with enough resources thrown at a project, anything is possible, so I won't go so far as to say "later frame swaps can't be done", they can, but when the values & worth are plugged into the equation I'd really have to ask my client or myself why would you/I want to do that?
All you really get is more problems with double flexing short shaft axle set ups, IMHO. If I were going to contemplate making a 4X2 into a 4X4 I would probably opt for later 70's F Series with coil spring front suspension my self.
