code 0175 bank 2 rich
Engine Idles rough and stalls out sometimse giving me the code sometimes not giving the code. Most of the time the code will come up with out stalling. The engine runs great in higher speeds, it is a dog at idle and acceleration below 20mph. It also runs much better when the weather is colder. I am in Miami this does not happen too often.
Any ideas are welcome. I have a mechanic who has been helping with this and he can nolonger come up with any other solutions other than the computer.
Since it has been rough since rebuild, makes me wonder if it is a vacuum related problem.
Thanks for the reply. Yes the vacum lines have been checked and check out OK.
Update on what has been done. Since the time I last posted I went to reset the computer which was on the to do list already, I was thinking dirty high resistance on the connector. Good connection but the computer did get reset. Jacked it up to do an oil change and 10 minutes later I am looking at antifreeze all over the driveway. Did the thermosat, and checked the EGR valve while I was there. Found that the mount to the EGR to the block the screws were stripped and was leaking. (This is also right where the thermostat was leaking.) Fixed all that. Better but still has the rich problem. Today I got the 2 downstream O2 sensors and went to put them in right after getting home. Exhaust still hot. Did bank 2 first, hot but could be handles. Then I did bank one - This one was much hotter than the other side. My suspisions now lead me to a clogged Cat. Is this correct in my thinking, or am I going down the wrong track? Could the added back pressure create a rich condition?
