Truck prices
The salesman did not go confer with anyone, just offered me a price that was 22% off of the sticker price. The price was so low I just said fill the gas tank and I'll take it.
I had never heard of the dealer, got lost in New Orleans, and happened up on it.
I feel sure that other dealers will do the same but I have come up on them here in Mississippi
My dad recently purchased an '02 S'crew Lariat 4x4. He walked into the dealer just to look (not much of a research on-line, then buy kind of guy
). He wanted to replace the '84 Bronco he had been using as the GP vehicle. The salesman was really pushing this deal (and I don't mean that in the bad sense). He was willing to do what ever it took to make my dad walk out with the truck. To make a long story short: My dad has a new truck for $28K (I think the MSRP was $32k and the dealer sticker was $35K) and the dealer paid $3K to pay off his '99 Continental (he still owns it, too).
This was in southwest Denver.
Now I've got my local dealer (in western WA state) working hard to impress me. The salesman says he can get me what I want for the price I want. I'm not looking new, but I expect good deals. He's currently working on a '99 supercab 5.4l 4x4, semi loaded XL, 28k miles for around $18K out the door. Just waiting on the wholesaler to bring the truck in for a look.:-X12
I suspect the newer vehicles get the better deals, but the economy is driving all of the dealers to try and make the buyers happy. Just wish they'd just drop the MSRP's and the second sticker crap. They'd probably get more people in to buy and get the economy rolling. :7

Just had to share how I joined the Ford Truck Owners family -
I just bought a 02 F150 SuperCrew 4x2 4.6L for over $5000 below MSRP not to mention well below Invoice!
I went through www.autonation.com and took advantage of Ford's rebates.
100% satisfied so far!
Lol, I've heard it's better to go to mississippi for better deals, or even out into the smaller country type towns. Like Lafayette or Thibodaux.
