a little help

hey guys....rebuilding an 88 351W EFI in an 88 F250....rebuilt many GM's but this is my first Ford rebuild. just wondering if there is anything overly particular to doing this Ford rebuild....i've had these engines a fair way apart, just not clear down. the heads should be going out monday to get checked....it popped a head gasket and started mixing water so thats step 1. other than that its just a stock build...new stock grind cam, and freshen it up.....any other advise is appreciated. thanx guys.

Nothing major, I would suggest a new oil pump drive shaft and do not use a hi-volume oil pump. Other than that, it is pretty much the same as any other engine.

For the love of gasoline and horsepower.. don't put the stock cam back in it!! Comp Cams 35-255-5 turns this into a proper truck motor.

i agree with conanski, that cam will work very well and the computer wont freak out. this would be a good time to install some headers and upgrade the Y pipe and rest of the exhaust. little things like this really will help the motor
