Soft Top Dilema

Hello,

I have a 91 Ford Bronco Custom.I believe the Custom is the bottom of the line Bronco.. It was purchased new by my Uncle who is a farmer and he very rarely used it. It has automatic and power steering but no power windows or a/c..He is now to old to drive so he sold it to me for only $500.00 and it only has 44,000 miles on it. It has the 6 cyl. and runs like a dream..I live in the Northeast and we are allowed to drive on the sound and ocean beaches out here with the proper permits. I got it late last August and had alot of fun with it on the beach.

The only problem is without A/C and with the fixed side windows, it was quite hot in the summer...I posted a message about a week or so ago here about if anyone know about replacement sliding glass windows for the fixed side windows of the fiberglass top. The only company I know that makes them is CR Lawrence and they only sell wholesale. A local auto glass place told me they could order them and install it for me but it would run me around $400.00-$500.00 so I have started to look at the different soft tops on the market...

I like the one that Skyler has due to the fact that there is no drilling...My question is to those of you who have one of the skyler is can you keep it on year round? It gets cold here in the winter but not real bitter cold...The lows get around 5 degrees. Also, does it make any noise at highway speeds and can you lock it on or can anyone steal it just by taking it off? And is the way to buy one directly from Skyler's web site or is there a less expensive place to order them... I see on Skyler's web site that they have a storage bag for it so I am assuming I could put the top in the bag when I'm down at the beach and in case of rain, just fold the rear seat down and put the top on real quick. Is that correct?

Due to it doesn't get real hot here, I don't want to install A/C in the Bronco and I will mostly be using the Bronco daily on the beach so thats why I am leaning towards getting the Skyler...

I would appreciate any suggestions and pro's and con's to the Skyler top or if anyone knows of another top or has any other suggestions I would welcome them all...Or if anyone knows of a place where I can buy sliding side windows to replace the fixed ones that are in the Bronco...Thanks alot and Happy Easter to all!!

I have the Kayline top on mine, which has been successful for me, although it definitely helped that it was bought and mostly installed by the former owner. He drilled all the holes (probably the biggest downside). I think the Skyler top is the one that angles down sharply? The Kayline is nice because you can still use the backseat, making it much more practical for year round use, which I have been doing. At highway speed, it really doesn't add much more noise, but it cannot be removed and put into a bag like the Skyler apparently can. Instead, it folds back on two bows and rests on the tailgate, and the panels can be bundled basically out of the way. It is the best part of my Bronco, so whichever one you get, I think it will be a good idea.
