Does anyone make shorty headers that fit for a 460 swapped into a 74 Crew?
I trying some hooker headers that were made for the swap but they didn't work at all. They need to be able to hug the block so they get down in between the frame rails. any ideas, my 545 is ready to run, this is the last thing to get done... I am dieing to get it going.... ...
Well I might not be much help but this is my history. I had a 64 F150 4*4 shortbox that I installed a 69 360hp 429 in with a mid 70's C-6 and married transfer case. I bought those hooker headers and had the exact same problem you did, but I figured it out after the driveline flattened a tube on me!
We changed them out for 69/70 Tbird manifolds. They worked well with the 2.5 inch duals and exited cleanly. You could also scavange for some 78 F150+ 460 manifolds...I am not sure they support the bigger pipe though.
Well I took back the headers from Hooker that were suppose to fit and bought the Land L headers from Bronco's graveyard. They fit like a glove. and are made extra heavy duty. dual 3 inch pipes back behind the crew and we are ready to rock. that 545 sounds awesome. I sure wish I could get my pic's working again to show you guys.
