Fuel pressure question?

how would or could you tune turn the fuel pressure on a 1996 7.3 turbo diesel to make it smoke.

What other ways could I make it smoke?????

Here's a FPR shim:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...mming-fpr.html

It won't make any smoke but will clean up your idle and make a bit more throttle response.

Adding fuel....makes smoke. You will need supporting mods b4 adding power. A set of gages, EGT, Boost and Tranny temp wil keep you from breaking any important stuff.

Add a cold air intake or (kwik filter) and a new down pipe are starting points too.

If you think your tranny (If auto) will take the extra HP then get a chip from DP tuners. Search this forum for more info. Others will be along shortly to add there input.

Drop a set of Hybrids in that pig and ride dirty from stop lights in second gear, you'll smoke it. lol, I recommend you start slow, go with a Kwik filter and exhaust, 10k mod and shim your FPR. these mods alone will induce what is known around here as PMS(Powerstroke Mod Syndrome) And after you have been infected you'll move on to bigger and better things like bigger turbinators and high pressure fuel and oil systems, etc., Good luck

Jim is spot on as always. more fuel pressure will make for a smoother idle and little better throttle response but no smoke. You need a chip for smoke which requires the few supporting mods like intake, exhuast (atleast a Down pipe), then gauges to monitor everything (pyro atleast)
