i need help i took off the distributer cap and plug wires but i forgot to write down the order is there any way to find out how to put the back in order or what should i do i fell like a fool ask this put im only 17 and i got no dad my mom has no clue and my friends and dumb please help me
now on the firing order, it's usually cast on the intake manifold if you still have the factory manifold. But if not, and you know which engine it is, look a little further down the forums and you find a forum for each of the engine types, and you should be able to find out the firing order for that particular engine in there, or post the question with the engine type and someone will be along to give you the firing order (be sure to include the year, as some engines changed firing orders)
it's a 1976 f100 with 302 or a 308 i just got two day ago and there not sur if it a 302 or a 308 i was told that there the same for parts

ok thats the firing order for you engine, the cylinders are numbered 1-4 on the passangers side starting at the front and 5-8 drivers side, you need to find out where number 1 is on the dist then in a counterclockwise rotation put the wires on leading to those spark plugs that match that firing order.
