Pete is the drone really bad? Im about a week away from ordering the 7's and i mean right now im running with a dumped exhaust, 5" straight to the flex and then it dumped down as much as the flex will because im waiting for the new ones(probably should have waited until I bought the new ones oh well). Im going to have to try what jt did with the clamp, because i already know what its like to have the oil on the side of the truck(turbo gone wild).
John, its bad, if you going 70 or at steady speed its within tolerances for 50-200miles drive , i have to go for 2700 its no way you can live with it, unless you wear ear plugs,
and when you get on it, its like LION howling in the wild,
but it gets to you on bad days, makes you wanna go back to CANNON club, but i allready chop it up, so no turning back, i have to remedy the problem i have now, which i think will be internal mufflers,
My buddy has 7" bull haulers and they arnt bad, but they are pointed out, hmm, im thinking about 6"s now since i do drive 350 miles to go up north, quite a bit in the winter months.
My old 5"turn outs were not bad at all to me but once again they were turned out. Maybe ill just get the 6's they are cheaper anyways.
its a extended cab, i would say i can live with it, but my other half will devorce me before we get maried,
LOL
i just heard Scumins with id say 4 or 5" straight cut with flappers and it was loud
so i dont think im the only one with loud exhaust, and few Riceburners around with coffee cans ,

At least you have some class with the sound of your exhaust. The others are just obnoxiously annoying. Ever hear the exhaust note of a cummins on a dyno? It sounds like a riceburner!
hmm whats your advise to it, should i get them or not, i have a cc and no wife, so i think i can handle noise. I really like the look of the 7's but if they are too damn noisy im gonna back down to 6's instead.
John , i think you answered your own question, TAKE them they are SWEET, i wont change them, just put the mufflers for the trip, and they are gone afterwards , i kinda like the nois on short trips, and beeing louder than the coffee can next to me, LOL
look in my galery and see if you like them, not the best pix but you get an idea,
Nice looking truck dude. Im gonna have to go with those 7's because if i dont ill be kickin myself for not doing it....I just hope one day i can get enough smoke to fill them up. lol
thanks for props John
ohh yeahhhh, they SMOKE, i have to make few pix, total BLACKOUT, LOL, not safe to be on my bumper for sure, cause it will be like Alien movie ,
"i was following red truck and Darkness came from nowhere " LOL
answer to the question do those drop in mufflers work? Yes one of the guys around here I used to truck with had 8" straights on his pete he used for pulling a bullrack, thought it was cool for about 4 months then couldn't take it anymore bought a set of the drop in mufflers and it was still loud but definatly took out most of the drone, and did quiet it down quite a bit.
We have the worlds largest truck stop here in iowa and I know they used to carry them but just looked on their web site and don't list them there. I might get a chance to swing by there this week and can ask if you want although you probably need them faster than that. or if you want I can find a number and you can call them and ask, some of their stuff is pretty reasonable and might give you a comparison
no rush Rob need them within next month, ill pm you my cell#, call me if you get more info,or know anyone ealse, thanks a lot
edit,
ill try to call them tommorrow,
