HELP ON LIFTING

Hi, this is my first post and i am extremely new to broncos and lifting and stuff. I have a 95 4WD Bronco XLT and i would like to lift it to either of these two settings.
1) 4" Lift and 35" Tires
2) 6" Lift and 33" Tires

What i need to know is if these are good or should i seitch them so that the lower lift is with the smaller tires. Also i would like any recommendations and how much this stuff would cost. I went to Les Schwab today and they said it would cost about $3000 on the safe side for new wheels 35" Super Swampers SSR and a 6" lift with something to do with a radial arm. I was curious if i could brign this down lower to about 2000-2500$. Well if anyone knows some good sites to be looking for lift kits and stuff please help. You can email me at LiquidLithiuimES at earthlink.net
Thanx Again

HELP ON LIFTING

hi, i'm in the process of researching a lift myself. while i don't know why you would want to use smaller tires on a taller lift .this is what i've found out: you can go up to 32" w/no lift. 33" tires require at least a 2" lift but 4" is better, 35" tires requires a 6" lift. if you are lifting your truck to accomodate larger tires and appearance only you don't need radius arms and rear leafs. you need what most companies call a stage 1 or standard kit. this includes drop brackets ,coil srings , rear blocks/u-bolts, brake lines etc. if you're looking for increased travel you need the radius arms and rear leafs. either way i've been told you can go 4" without modifying your drive shaft {on larger lifts the spline shaft may not be long enough]. as far as retailers i've checked with www.4wheelparts.com and www.jackit the basic 4" at jackit is$ 579 + $47 shipping and includes the drop pitman arm. thats if you install it yourself, if you can't you would have to find someone to do it for you. the price you quoted for tires, lift kit and installation does not sound unreasonable at all. check out 4 wheel parts website to compare tire, kit prices. good luck

I agree with the previous writer. No lift, 32s, 2" lift 33s, probably a 6" lift to be sure to clear 35s with no problems. The best prices you'll find are from Rough Country, 800-222-7023. Tell them you drive a Bronco & know me, & they'll give you at least a 10% discount off of their already low prices. Website is http://rough.roughcounty.com You can get a 6" lift complete w/ shipping for close to $600. Use long add a leafs, extended brake lines, and drop down brackets for the front sway bar. These are all extra. Also, use gas charged shocks instead of hydraulics. You will only need four shocks. The two extra front ones are unnecessary, as long as you use gas charged shocks.
Now, if all you want to run are 33s, then for under $200, you can get 1 1/2" front coils and 2" blocks for the rear. You probably won't even have to change your shocks. It looks really good with 33s, and you don't have to break the bank. A set of BFG Mud Terrains, 33X12.5X15 will cost you around $600, plus tax and balancing. This way you're spending well under $1,000 and making a big difference in the way your truck looks. This is a far cry cheaper than the $3,000 you spoke of earlier.

HELP ON LIFTING

to put 33's on a bronco you need NO lift, for 35's you need a 4in lift. but those specs are for 78-78's

HELP ON LIFTING

You clearly I have good help here I just wanted to say I've got an 88 I went with a 4" w/ radius arms. I installed it myself I am going to wait on the rear springs until I've got some money. I have 33-12.5 and it sits pretty nice. Like they said if you are not looking for added clearance I would suggest sticking with the stage one lift. Good luck

My personal preference is Skyjacker. They have a class II system with extended radius arms longer coils and a new set of leafs available for 4" or 6" lift. I think it comes with a longer steering arm but i don't know. The system comes with 4 softride shocks and i think it costs somewhere around $1200. Go to www.skyjacker.com I think it should be relatively easy to install except you'll probably have to bleed the brake lines when you add the longer brake lines.

The 4" lift for 33's and 6" for 35's is right. I went with a Pro-Comp 6" Stage II kit and am more than happy with it. If you're planning to do much off-roading, I would highly recommend going with the longer radius arms for increased wheel travel.....they make a HUGE difference.

As for prices, the best advice is to shop around. I got mine through Summit Racing for just under $1000, and the wheels and tires from Tyres International for about $750. If you aren't installing this yourself, you might be best to get the kit from where you're having it installed tho. Alot of places won't install a kit if you don't purchase it from them, or they'll jack the price way up.
