ok were can i get chrome mirror covers that most of the trucks come from the dealer with. i got a 06 f250 with the turn signal in side of it. thanks for any help
Most of the trucks from the dealerships come with the plain jane black covers. I've only seen a couple of trucks with the chromes. I'm seeing more guys have them painted to match the body.
They come with the chrome package along with the 5in running boards the tip, grille, and chrome tow hooks and mirror covers. You can buy each individually. I have the 5in chrome running boards. They ran me about $400 from the local ford dealership.
putco also makes covers that just stick onto the black cover. when you buy the chrome covers from ford, it is the entire back cover that includes the signal. the ford covers are easily seen because the chrome wraps around the signal. the aftermarket covers do not wrap around the signal.
cdr, if you look at the description, it says that make and model may vary. i know someone who has the putco covers for the signal mirrors and they do not wrap around the signals.
Just get them from these guys www.powerstrokeshop.com that is where mine came from. Stay away from the putco ones...I don't think they look as good as the OEM. Plus the covers are fairly cheap.
I put the Putcos on my '05 Excursion...pics in my gallery.
At least on my '05, they DO go around the turn signal. They look very close to the Ford ones and were half the price. I wax mine with the rest of the truck and they are holding up well.
hmmmm, matt, one of my friends has an 06 f350 and he got the putco covers and the dont go around the signals. i wonder if they changed styles. but knowing my buddy, he probably broke one and decided to cut that piece off of the other one..
