the ford just wasnt pulling the trailer for me the 4.6 just wasnt cutting it. so i had to trade it in yesterday. i went with the 007 dodge 1 ton diesel. and trust me it pulls ,climbs and halls. thanks to all your help with the ford. but i`m whats known as a dodge man now
U really cant compare a 4.6 Ford to a deisal dodge, thats like racing a mustang against a chevette, Ford powerstroke deisal is a very good motor, compare that against the dodge diesal and see what u come up with.
Nightrain, is there a reason you went with the dodge over the powerstroke 6.4L, Ive got the 2006 6.0L F550 service and a 6,000lb crane body..and it hauls 19,000lbs 24/7..hard to beat..44,000 mls no probs..I just wish it was mine with a hideaway 5th wheel setup
I'll never buy another first yr Ford product. I've been burned with a 97 F150 & a 95 F250 PSD. Both had too many problems due to poor quality control or rushing them on the market. I don't know which one causes it. If I buy a diesel next it will be a Dodge. I've had just as good or better reliability with my Dodge trucks as my Ford ones.
the 6.4 is harder on diesel and it was more money. the dodge sounds like a gas not like a gaser with no oil in it. and the dodge was a better price. most of the ford go to or come from the oil rig pigs and i dont want anything i had.. i get the 35 put on on weds i`l post a pic.this 6.7l dodge seems to be great already
