Coil Spring Compressor?

Coil Spring Compressor?
Im changing out a coroded front Coil Spring Retainer and Pad. I have access to an Auto Garage with 4pt. Frame Lifter. Do I need to use one of those Compressor tools(which I would have to buy) or can I just lift it up and release the pressure from the spring and unbolt it from the top?

Well if it's on your 78 150, no compressor needed. Spring compressors are usually only needed when dealing with struts.
