Can't answer your exact questions, but here's 2 things to find out about. I'm thinking the output shaft of the lincoln tranny has to be changed to mount the t-case. Another thing is front spring upgrades. What motor are you replacing? What tranny do you have now? There are a lot of threads on this if you look. (Not saying you haven't already) I have a friend that had a 78 bronco with the 460. Lots of fun. He couldn't get the title straight so the motor went in his 91 flatbed, and the bronco went to scrap.

current motor is the 302 and e4od yes the output shaft will be changed but i was thinking about just leaving it 2x4 its for the sand and the 50 does everything i ask of it in 2 wheel so with the amount of power i will get from the 460 im relly kicking it around.

I run a 79 Linclon 460 in a 80 Bronco, mine had a 351m in it before and the mounts and the trans were the used without change. If you want the 4wd to work find a older Bronco C-6 with the married transfercase.

bertha66, how'd you get a 460 in there with 351M motor mounts.
The mounts are different and your suposed to change them, and L&L offers conversion mounts just for that, but your right about the tranny for sure.
The bell housing is the same for both.

This site has several different versions for the 460 swap if you scroll down alittle.

There's a few posts on the 460 swap, have you tried searching? I put a 460 from an 88 F350 in my 84 Bronco, using the L&L motor mount from JBG ($110). You may need to notch the engine crossmember for the oil filter, or use a remote filter adapter. Your B-W 13-56, NP208 or NP205 will bolt up to a 4WD C-6. Easiest would be the B-W if that's what you have already. JSM84

For a good article on installing a 460 in a '78/79 Bronco, go to projectbronco.com, go to the technical section the link is in there.

If you have a 80 trans out of a 4x4 it will work, I was thinking that you had a car trans. As far as the mounts that are in mine, I do not know what was used, PO did the install.
