hey everyone ive posted on this forum a few times. friday was a sad day. went to get my girl and as soon as i got to her house the truck started messin up. when i pressed the gas lightly the rpm's would rev and then the gears would meet again. transmission guy said when he dropped the pan there were all kinds of metal shavings all in the fluid. i definetly need a new torque converter cause of all the metal in there. plus who knows how much other stuff is messed up. what sucks is that i'm 17 and the transmission was rebuilt in 99. im pretty much screwed now. i guess all that muddin' finally got to it. i guess the whole point of this is to give all you other crazy drivers like me a warning. when you're young and you mess up your car it sucks. i was a day away from getting this killer exhaust which i had saved and worked for. now all that money is gone into the transmission plus about 3 times that amount. my parents will probably sell it and i'll be pushin the pedals on my bike from now on. so i guess its a good idea not to screw up like me and to take it easier on your older trucks cause its not cheap when you gotta fix it.
If it makes you feel any better, I think we have all been in your shoes at least once in our lives (I can honestly say that I've been there many times).
Bummer. I recall being there a couple decades ago. When my ratty old VW died I was riding my bike to get most places too. It was about 12 miles to my g/f's house if I recall correctly.
