I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has done this. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult because the axle I am going to use is out of a 79 bronco and the setup is very similar as far as stearing and suspension. Does anyone know of any tricks to doing this or is it as easy as it seems? . The only trouble I can see having is customizing a trac bar.
Go for it!!! I've done several and although not really easy. It can be done. You can buy the drop down radius arm brackets from Four Wheel Parts Warehouse and several other places and weld them in. As for as the trac bar..... I made my own using heim joints and tubing, the best part is you can use the stock location of the original axel pivot bracket to secure one side of the new trac bar while welding the other to the tube. The only thing to be careful of is making sure you properly center your wheel base prior to welding the radius arms in. Measure twice have a friend triple check (before any beer is consumed) then burn em in. Good luck
i have an 1980 bronco with 6" supension and 3 body but i want to change my frontend to solid axle and i was wondering if you have pics and the 6" is for sale as well it has 1 hour of time on it but was not satisfided with it
