I have two Aero's, one of which is crashed that I'm using for parts. This crashed Aero has a neat interior light feature that turns them on when the key is inserted into the door lock. It also leaves them on when the door is closed and gradually dims them until off. What controls this feature? Is it easily removed from my crashed Aero and placed on my working Aero that doesn't have that feature?

I would imagine you would have to change all your door lock(s) & the associated wiring harness(es). Also there will be a dimmer circuit to find & re-instal in the other vehicle. Sounds like it would be a lot of hassle for some extra light circuit.
You gain 2 seconds of light before opening the door & gain another 30 seconds after you close them. I guess it's personal thing. I'd be worrying about the switch freezing & not turning off the light(s) & then confronting a flat battery in the morning!

I just did exactly that, moved the "Illuminated Entry" system from a 90 EB EXT to a 91 XLT EXT. I had to do the following:
1. Move over the Dome and Reading Lamps
2. Move over the Instrument Panel Courtesy Lamps (under dash on either side).
3. Move over the "Illuminated Entry Timer".
The timer is located behind the "B" pillar (behind the driver's door). Remove it from the donor van, and the recipient van should have a wiring harness with a plug in the same location. You will, however, have to move the wiring harness for the Dome and Reading Lamps. I don't remember exactly, but I think it plugs in at the base of the "B" pillar.
