Yikes, the 78 is listed @ $11,000 and the 57 is listed @ $35,000. I`m not surprised at the 57 price but the 78 is more than I would have thought though it does sounds nice.
Maybe the 71 I was looking at isn`t out of line @ $3,500 even if it needs all that work.
Guess I better stick to my old trucks.
79 is the last year, unless you count those new ones from australia that glen showed us before.
That 57 is really cool. I didnt care much for the 78, or 79 though.
79 was the last year of the Ranchero in North America. The Aussies kept it alive down under by demand down there. We are missing out on some sweet rides here.
I look at the Rancheros on Ebay and there are some really nice rides there that go fairly reasonable in prices.
Why we don`t have some of the Aussie Ford vehicles could be the emissions certification or something simple like that.
This really bites as they have some very neat and fast Fords over there.
How hard would it be to put the engines and system for emissions into those cars. They just need to bring the body style here and put in the drtivetrain and emission systems required here.
I think Ford has way different power trains in Austr.
They have the fastest Ford truck since the Lightning disappeared, if I can remember right it runs the quarter in under 14 seconds stock.
It would be very easy for them to get the same emissions in those vehicles. Even if they couldnt do that, they could just as easily manufacture them with te engine and trannies and emissions we have in our fords over here!
