I beleive the only transfer case offered in your vehicle was the BW 1356, the same transfer case found behind the C6 in my 1994 F250, so yes the two should work toghehter.

Aside from that, there are two things that you should know before attempting this swap:
1) Make sure you get a C6 from a 4x4, one from a 2 wheel drive vehicle will not work for your four wheel drive application.
2) The C6 is shorter than the E4OD and will require crossmember relocation and modifactions to your driveshafts. This will cost you a lot of money and be a hassle.

Sure, the C6 is an awesome transmission, but the E4OD is pretty tough, esspecially with some modifications. My dad is running a bone-stock E4OD behind a 460 in his 1997 F250 that is used for heavy towing and it is still performing well after 120,000 miles. Long story short, I beleive that the swap to a C6 will not be worth it unless you are extensively modifying the vehicle.

there is a place in Schaumburg Ill that has the E4OD for $900 with a $500 Core charge. 24month / 24K mile warranty. Check Ebay. I think they are called Road's Transmission.

When I needed a tranny for my '95 I bought my 4r70w 4 sp auto at RoadMaster in schaumburg. It was completly rebuilt and is still running and shifting great after 2 years. They have very good prices. for me, driving there was cheaper than shipping. They ship anywhere, even china. One thing is though don't expect to much of your core deposit back. whatever is wrong with your core gets deducted out of your core charge. my core charge was 300-400. I got back $102. overall, Good Transmissions and reasonal prices.

Another thing to think about, the E4od is an electronic trans and your computer will be looking for it. The c6 is also only a three speed, no overdrive.
