Did you listen to the radio series too?
They were better than the book in my humble opinion.

I have a theory of my own- If no one listens to or hears the crap coming from these peoples mouths then will they still talk? NO!!!!! If ya'll quit listening to this mess it will go away just like the killer bees and global cooling and el nino and all the other doomsday crap people waste time thinking about.

Now- lets all try my theory with billary/obama and rosie O'dummy!

Paul Erlichman's "The Population Bomb" was the biggy back in the 70s. Soylent Green was to happen already.

The problem with "global warming" is we are living through one now..... if that is what it is. Back in the late 70s, there was a series of hard winters with many (including scientists) thinking a new "Ice Age" was coming like the "Little Ice Age" before. Lots of news articles, books and "calamity sayers" were voicing concerns about that and how to stop it.

As for Darwin "survival of the fittest". Not so much the "strongest" but how a species adapts to changes determines it's survival.

I was telling a co-worker about how there was a story out there that so much ice was melting, (I forget where, Greenland or something), that some ancient relics and fossils that were buried in ice for thousands of years were being exposed due to the melting. He said "well if they're finding them there, then it must have been melted before at some point, right?" In other words, that area was exposed when those items were put there and they froze up, now it's thawed again. Cycles.

alot of people have some great input on here, yes natural part happens.

eceryone seems to be forgetting the one major factor in all of this.

draughts occur,food shortages,airborn diseases,..etc......

is the population boom.

now when all of this has happened in the past lets say, couple of thousand years ago, or even more.

how many people were on the earth in that era???????

a minut amount compared to now, and with 9 billion people at the end of this century, you dont think theres going to be an issue????

but we dont have to worry, look at the bird flu, it has flirted with us a few times in the past 7 or 8 years or so.

when it decides to mutate into an airborn spreadable flu between humans, like the flu pandemic that broke out in the 1920's or so, it killed 40 million worldwide.

its the population boom, depleting natural resources, combined with natural disasters that are getting worse, the worst its been since recordings events began, should make for a fun era to grow up in.

terrorists, dictators, global warming, oh my.....lol

If Edgar Cayce was on track, the axis of the earth is due to shift.

There again an asteroid or other "PLANETARY BODY" may collide with the earth.

- I don't think a seatbelt will help much....

Umm...

I suppose on the positive side, mowing the lawn will become a side issue
