> there is a 90 percent likelihood that humans are contributing to the change.

As soon as I saw this gibberish, I stopped reading. Yea, I would like to see how they figure that % out.

Mother nature has many ways to clean the slate and start over and she does from time to time.

I would think that man NOT contributing to the change would be gibberish, with the argument being how much.

So many points to ponder, sounds like another "Inconveniece of the Truth" to me.

Considering that 200 years still doesn't even register as a blip on a geologic timescale, I suspect Mother Nature won't notice nor will the environment.

Of course, humans might be one of those extinct species. Just goes to show that even having an opposable thumb doesn't mean diddly.

One major volcano eruption will put more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere than man has ever put in the air since the dawn of time. The other side of the science is that the sun is burning hotter than it has in the past. It's a cycle that happens and there is nothing you, me or any body else can do to stop it. People will create a crisis and will ask for money to research it. They will not look at the other side of the argument for fear it will stop the money flow. Global warming is a fact that all sane scientist will agree with. It has been going on for about 20,000 years and will continue for some time. Man made global warming is not a proven fact. There are plenty of scientist that disagree with the man made global stuff. You will not hear from them because they will make the vocal people look like idiots. Al Gore will not debate anyone about this. I would assume out of fear of looking like a fool. (my opinion) We have come a long way since the 50's, 60's, and the 70's with the amount of polution that goes into the atmosphere and water. Most of the people that are crying about this global warming stuff are doing nothing in their own personal lives to set an example. Some are perhaps, but most are not. To make matters worse, they don't offer any real solutions. We can't build any nuclear power plants or hydroelectric dams. When they give up their cars and private airplanes and start living without gas, electric, and fire, then perhaps I will take notice and see if I want to copy them. As for now, they can shut up. That in itself will cut down on greenhouse gases. Now, who wants to pay me for stopping some greenhouse gases?

While I certainly don't disagree that global warming is happening, I think the only question that remains to be answered with any degree of certainty is what our own effect on the problem is vs. how bad it would be if there were no humans on the planet.

I haven't seen a convincing argument that we are largely responsible.

Al Gore will not debate anyone about this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and to prove this point when he was brought to task by someone on a committe who disagreed with him. Al said: "Well I wonder what there is I can say that could convince you to believe it "?
The other guy said show me ACTUAL proof.
Al just sat there very quiet.
This is not meant to take political sides just to stress a point.
To attend this weeks Democratic candidate debate ALL of the major candidates took their own PRIVATE JET to the host city. How much greenhouse gas was expelled from THOSE engines?
Like most politicians and the other pontificating elite "do gooder - know it alls" they want to tell us how to live but do not even attempt to follow their own advice.
In the end it's only that come from their mouths.
In the end, Thermal Dynamics, the Earth itself, and Darwinism will eliminate as many life forms as necessary in order to ensure that the cosmos gradually settles into the end form of entropy.
I doubt any of us will be there to witness it.
Pity...
Stupid humans. Haven't any of you read "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy"? Earth will be destroyed so They can build the intergalactic highway. The flying dolphins told me so.
