I have a Pioneer in dash CD player from a 2001 to 2003 F-150 that I am selling. What I need to know is will this radio fit a 1995 Ranger. I know it fits 2001+ but will it fit other model years.
if its 5-6 inches thick ( a big stereo) may have an issue if the fords hole is small, but if not then yes, with an adapter. wally world 15 bucks for a face plate adapter.
my pioneer 06 ranger is about 5-6 inches thick, would fit a gm no prob, but a 95 ford may have a small hole for the radio.
IF you were to look deep into it and figure out exactly what wires did what on the back of the radio, its doable. But you'd need the plug from the F150, and need to cut the hole out of the dash in the 95. With a well determined mind anything is possible. But whether or not its reasonable enough to invest the time/effort when you can but a BRAND NEW Pioneer cd player that'll fit it for about $150 that'll sound the same or better, is up to the one making the decision. But I'd never do it unless I was serisously strapped for cash. Also look into how many speakers the F150 had, cuz the ranger only has 4!! I'm sure the 150 has 6, with the tweeters seperate from the mids in the front.
Go to Crutchfield.com and punch in each truck. See if both come up with the same letter size. That will tell you a lot right there.
Like the other poster stated just buy new. Heck, you can get an MP3 CD player for $99 now.
I think the '95 Ranger is double-DIN. That was the first year of the new dash, same as my '97 (here's mine), and it's bigger than the '94s. I don't know jack about stereos, though.
I think the world plug went into production (commonized plug) in 1998 but it could have been later. Meaning the plugs won't interchange... but MNRelectronics makes a new to old plug and old to new plug harness if you want that so you don't need to rewire and mark everything... They run around $30...

Crutchfield's simulator for what will fit your Ford is not always right.
I bought a Pioneer D-2 which is double din. Their simulator said it would not fit. It did fit after all.
Crutchfield is a fine company but their simulator is not programmed very well.
