It Sounds Like Im Getting Some Chirping Coming From My Belt.
Im Pretty Sure That Its Coming From The Area Of The Power Steering Pump. The Belt Looks Fairly New.
What Should I Do? Do I Need A New Pulley ? I Would Like To Get This Fix On The First Try All Your Help Is Appreciated Ahead Of Time.
Read all sorts of stuff about it, very detailed "have to do this " and "have to do that" before putting on a new belt otherwise the belt will be ruined etc. :/
So figured, well if the all them dangged pulleys are going to be needin cleaned and scuffed and all that crap... i might as well spray 'em down good with carb cleaner and let the old belt do the first part of that job for me, huh? :)
Belt dressing etc had made the squealing worse, the carb cleaner stopped the squealing. A month or so later replaced the belt as planned.
Didn't do a single thing i was told.
I'm contrary like that. :/
So What Should I Do First.? Should I Just Get A New Belt And See If That Works? And What Type Of Belt Would Be Best.? I See They Have A Gator Back Belt That Helps Reduse Noise.
Need Some More Help.
well i cleaned all my pulleys and put on a gatorback belt and the chirp is gone. took a good look at the tensioner and it didnt really move. i think it might have been a combonation of all the coolant i leaked on the pulleys when i changed my t-stat and the belt needed to be changed.
