i have been shopping some new rotors for my 97 250 dana 50 ttb. do the rotors separate from the hubs or do you have to buy the whole thing? which years are compatible? a lot of times i see suspension parts listed for models up to '96. i'm not sure if that is because of the whole '97 250 vs. '97 150 different cutoff year or if there is some difference between a 97 and a 96 and down.
You can buy just the rotors and knock the studs out and remove hub .When I buy parts for my 97 I have to ask for 97 f-250 heavy duty. then they get me the right parts. If I don't ask they bring me parts for a f-250 light duty truck .
When I was shopping about for my rotors I ask a lot of people about what is the best rotors to get an they said that napa was the best an that checker was the worst same with autozone there there pretty bad also . I put them on an they work good in the past I put on checker brand an they worped .
97REDPSD is correct. you knock the wheel studs out then the rotor will come off the hub from the back side. then to reinstall set the new rotor on the hub and pound the studs back in. I use Napa part almost exclusively haven't had any issues with them yet. well atleast on rotors.
napa napa napa all the time. can't say it enough. better quality parts, right part the first time. autozone, wrong part everytime. i work part time at sears auto center. i get a discount at advance auto parts (you guys out west probably have not heard of that) i call the commercial line and they know what they are talking about. red is right though, you have to definitely tell the autozone people that you have an hd not the "under 8500lbs. gvwr" sometimes the dummys dont even ask, but i dont have to deal with that anymore cause i dont shop at autozone anymore.
back on topic, i thought that's how it worked, but i needed to ask to make sure. thanks guys
