Has anyone had the need to replace their steering shaft?
If so, why?
The reason why I am asking is because after replacing my steering box, I have a bit of looseness in the shaft that seems to be coming from the point where the shaft penetrates the firewall.
Is it normal to have to replace this after awhile?
Thanx!
I seem to have more than normal movement at the point where the shaft goes through the firewall. I think it is some sort of bearing there that may be worn out.
there is a bearing in the steering column and i am sure that it can get a little play in it not sure how hard it is to do but the parts are fairly cheap. The most exspensive part is less than 10 dollars from ford.
