20" or 18" Wheel Question
Personally, I love the look of the 18" chrome factory wheels. Can't say how they will hold up but the surface seems durable so I'm not concerned.
Some aftermarket wheels are nice looking, but many are overly adorned and look cheesy to me. Plus, you have to obtain the factory air pressure sensors and affix those for many vehicles nowadays. Also, I am not a big fan of aftermarket wheels with a different offset causing them to stick out from the fenders, they look ghetto.
Also I've been told that the less trapped air in a tire the safer the tire, the impact being when it gets hot, the less sidewall the better. I can't speak to that, just what I've been told by tire people.
I've got the 20's and I love the ride....sssooo much more comfortable than the '06 Explorer.

If you're referring to these, no, you cannot remove the cover from the wheel and replace it. at least not at this time as there are not replacement covers available, yet. Thet are glued on, or otherwise secured in a fashion that does not lend itself to servicability.
I know this as a fact since I monsooned one of them and had to replace the entire wheel to the tune of $350.00,(not including the tire) since a replacement cover is not to be had anywhere at any price.....................
