5.0L No Startup???

So my motor ran, and for the mileage it ran fine before I started my lift project. Over a period of about 4 months I have replaced the core support and a few other metal works, but nothing with the wiring. I was replacing the spark plugs one day and one of the spark plug wires came loose from the rubber connection. I did my best and thought I might have fixed it...did I? It may sound like a dumb question but should I go and spend money on new spark plug wires. They are pricey! I cleaned up the battery connections and still nothing. The key is in the ignition and the power is available, such as lights, blinkers etc...but not even a chug-a-chug from the engine compartment. The fuel pump comes on when the key is turned to the on position, like it should, and it isn't my ignition swith because that is new.

My horn does not work, and the relay switch clicks when I push the horn, but nothing...plus I have cruise control and I tried to hook up an air horn to the factory connections....still nothing!!! TJ where are you! Yes the fuses are not burnt out. What is this crap, I want to drive my truck...aaahhhh!!!

use a screwdriver to bump the starter using the starter solenoud. Cause it almost sounds like it's bad or you got a bad groundwire somewhere

Well, where is the starter solenoid? Are you talking about the ignition solenoid that is mounted on the wall of the fender? How do I do this, i have never heard of this before...novice at rig starts!

don't start it using this method just see if the starter turns over the motor. take a screwdriver preferrably a flathead and put it on the large postive threaded piece and then touch it to the small postive threaded piece which is just above it. If the motor turns over then try cleaning the connections the 2 positive wires make and then try with the key. if it doesn't then your solenoid is more than likely done. And yes it is on the passenger side fender just above the battery

I think I see your problem. You've got the 2 positive wires on the same connector from what i can tell. Put the small wire on the connector that has nothing on it and try it then. You went and fooled me cause I was giving you instructions on howe to do it on a factory piece and you've got an aftermarket piece!!

NO...wait, disreguard that small wire that is not connected...this was taken just to give you a idea what I am looking at. The little wire is connected now and everything started before i took it apart. This has not been touched since the last time I started the truck, and then took it apart. So how do I do the turnover again...show me please...!

I just took another look at your photo and I'm pretty sure now i was wrong with my conclusion. That red wire with the black plastic boot on it hanging down in the pic does that boot fit onto the threade piece with no wire connected to it? If it does attach it and then try. I'm getting ready to upload a pic right now of a factory setup that i just took so gimme a few minutes

ok basicall take a screwdriver and where the posiitve larger wires connect put the end of the scredriver on there, then take the screwdriver as it is still touching that lead and touch it to the threaded piece in the pic that has nothing on it. It will spark a bit and if it is good it will turn the motor over

ok in this pic the larger nut on the right is the positive connction to the starter solenoid. The wire going into the top with the blue connector at the top is the other positive. what I'm taliking about is taking a screwdriver from the larger bolt connector and touching it to the smaller connector bolt to turn over the motor

You see the big connectors on the left and right of your solenoind, one side goes back to the starter and the other goes back to the battery. Touch a screw driver in between the the post on the fornt where the little wire goes to the the side post that goes back to the battery. You'll see some sparks but it should turn over.

I would clean my connections first if I were you, you still need a good path for the electricity to flow. A path is from the + thru whatever your running and back to the -. A break or weakness in the path will interfere with the flow.

-Clean the battery terminal connects (+ & -) Leave the terminals off for now. Follow the negative down to the block and frame and clean those ends really good. Clean where they mount to also. Get down to shiney metal.
-Clean all the ends attached to the solenoids side posts.
-Clean the end connected to the starter.
-Take the bolts holding the starter in and clean the block around the bolt area and clean the stater around the bolt areas. The starter gets ground thru the contact with the block you see.
-Reconnect the battery terminals and try her.
