F-750 4x4

I was on the way home from taking my wife for a medical procedure today when I saw a black F-750 4x4 on Galveston Island. Had to believe my eyes as it was the wife who was still loopy from anesthesia! The guy must have been visiting because the average elevation of Galveston is a whopping 7'.

Wish I had the camera with me, but didn't. This thing was HUGE! Diesel with an in the bed tank added. It didn't have a speck of dust on it and I didn't think a speck of dirt would dare get on.

Had a hard time explaining to my wife what an F-750 pickup really is! Good thing she was still under the effects of happy gas!

Anyone else see any of these things funning around?

Lots of work to make an F-750 a 4X4, and those are cab, and chassis trucks, so having a bed is something that was added. I have built two six door F-650's and used 350 dually beds.
If the truck you saw had a standard cab like a Super Duty, then you simply saw a big truck wearing 750 badges. The badges are cheap, and I see poser trucks all over the place.
Now I have also seen plenty of guys modifying ligitimate cab and chassis trucks, and using them to pull monster trailers. They are pretty big, and require a whole bunch of work to make them 4 wheel drive.
A bunch of articles are available if you google "super trucks"

The size of the thing is what threw me. It was huge. I've seen F-450 trucks before and this was quite a bit bigger. However, I really thought that it was an F-450 or something a little bigger when I first saw it. The badging may have been changed.

Nonetheless, it was a massive truck. It really looked bigger than the cab of an 18,000 pound U-haul or Penske leased truck.

Hopefully, it'll be on the island for the week and i'll be able to get a pic.

Real similar, but it wasn't a dually. The size is pretty much right.

This website has a picture of one. It may not have been a 4x4, but it sure looked like one when I drove by it. The f750 is about three or four pics down.

you know whats funny...

when i was younger i had a chevy luv.
then a few years later i had toyota shortbed 4 speed. no heater. manual everything.
then i picked up a full size bronco and @ first - it was kinda like drivin' a very tall sofa around town...but you get used to it

and when i picked up my f-150 SC...i was like "WOW" - i actually stopped and questioned whether or not i wanted deal with a truck this big...then i started getting out into the desert with some friends and realized - that MY truck (up against f250s & 350 longbeds with 8" lifts) was the SMALL truck.

now i know - i was wrong......again.

those f650s were really INCREDIBLE.

id love to take one for an OFFROAD test drive...(with 9 of my friends - while we watch a movie)

Most of these are F-650's...and did you know that you can get a choice of engines... Power Stroke, Cummins, or Cat. You can also get an Allison transmission.
Here's a price list.

That pic is of a bigger than the truck I saw. I must have been a 2x4. Also, the thing had a little class III hitch on the back of it!

F650, F750 - they are all monsters!

those trucks are awesome. useless unless you're towing some huge, but still pretty cool. I wonder what axles come under them?
